Grapefruit Coffee

In 2019 we were approached to help transform a greasy spoon cafe into a modern and interesting coffee shop. The owners wanted to have warm and bright materials to lift the space and give it a modern, scandinavian feel. We used Birch Plywood extensively throughout the store and complemented it with cork flooring. With it being such a small space our biggest priority was to design something that would work well to accomodate the staff and customers. Through multiple iterations in CAD we eventually decided on a layout that would work and the clients were happy with. The showpiece of the transformation was the white polished concrete counter, with hundreds of precious gemstones and crystals hand laid into it. The clients are champions of small businesses and artists and we were able to incorporate handmade tiles made by Merida from AMR ceramics, these beautiful tiles gave the store a vibrant pop of colour and finished the store wonderfully.

Now its its fifth year of operation Grapefruit is one of Manchesters best coffee shops, being Manchester Food and Drink Festival Coffee shop of the year,
